Today I want to talk about first led strip lights sales experience to Canada. We customized 24V 3528 240led double row led strip light for customer.
This story dated back to 2011. I remember that was my first Canadian customer. This also accumulated some lighting product experience for my future lighting sourcing.
I established Seven Color Lighting Co., LTD in 2010 on my own, which mainly manufactured flexible led strip lights, led downlights, led tube lights, all kinds of led lights and so on. In 2010, we only had 10-15 workers and the second year, we have developed to more than 30 people totally. That time only if you had orders, your factory could expand very fast.
How Robert found me to purchase led strip lights
I still remember his name is Robert. And we had two transactions that year. Robert got my contact from google. Because I have always valued great importance to the company’s official website. I made a website by myself to promote led strip lights. Power supply and other led lights.
That time, it’s very easy for google to index your website. You just need to upload your products with beautiful product photos and good description. Even if no SEO no advertisement, your website can still rank on the first page easily.
So Robert just searched “led strip lights 3528” and he found our website as easy as a pie.
First contact with Robert
That age, we didn’t have whatsapp yet. And email was the only way Robert can contact me.
We have time different about 12hours.We are 12hours faster than in Canada. Robert sent an email to me and told me he had a project for an University library decoration. He just wanted to check if our quality can reach his requirement. In my memory, he wanted to purchase 24V 3528 240led led strip lights 3000K warm white.
I quoted the price to him and he was very satisfied with our price. But he just suspected if our quality can reach his requirement.
My perseverance led to my first sale with Robert
After a a few emails back and forth, I knew about Robert’s working time and habits. He often begun to reply me around 1:30 am early morning China time.
Since that, every day I set my alarm for 1:15am and got up to send emails to him. We kept in contact for almost half a month that way.
In his email, I knew that he would purchase about 2000 meters of 24V 3528 240led double row led strip lights. And our price was very competitive just one tenth of the local price. In any case,in order to avoid quality problems and after-sales troubles, he decided to buy them locally.
Send led strip lights samples to Robert
Considering all the possibilities, I decided to make a reel of sample for him.
The second day, I told Robert we would make a reel of free sample and sent it to him by DHL at my own cost to compare the quality at local.
I also attached the photos of my factory, Quality control and our products to the email.
Owing to my sincerity and persistence, Robert accepted my suggestion.
Prepare the 24V 3528 double row led strip light sample
After I got the address and contact from Robert, I begun to prepare the samples.
Firstly,I contacted the SMD 3528 led supplier and told them our requirement.
Secondly, I asked the FPCB factory to make the best FPCB for me.
Third, I requested the factory director Mr Zhou must follow up this sample himself to confirm everything was with high quality.
15days later, the samples came out with a superior quality and shinning brightness. We made two copies of samples. One for Robert and the other for ourselves. I was very glad that those ones must be what Robert wanted.
I supposed Robert must purchase power supply together with led strip lights. And I guess Robert didn’t have 24V power supply on hand.
So I sent a reel of 24V led strip and a 24V power supply together by DHL.
Robert Placed the first order of 24V 3528 led strip lights
One day early morning, Robert told me that he received the samples and thanked for my efforts. After testing, he was very satisfied with our quality and brightness. He decided to place the first order to me.
Oh my god! You could not imagine how happy I was at that moment but not surprise. Because I had been following up for more than a month. However, that nigh, I got a deep and sweet sleep.
In a word, I often say to myself, if you trust yourself and products, you can just move forward and persist in following up. Never give up, you can get something one day.
